Chris Burkhouse is a professional farmer focused on organic, diversified vegetables. She co-owned and operated Foxtail Farm for 25 + years before transitioning the farm to beginning farmers.  At Foxtail she helped train and incubate over 100 farmers from around the world, some of the farmers who are now members of the SCVFA.  She believes strongly in growing healthy food, people, and community in a way that limits harm and benefits all.  She also spent 12 years working with immigrants and refugees at the International Institute of MN. Her passion for farming continues through consulting beginning farmers to working, part time on 3 different SCVFA farms and serving as Vice Chair of the SCVFA board. When she doesn't have her hands in the dirt, she enjoys taking long hikes, traveling and most importantly, savoring a delicious meal and coffee.
